Remembrance Day Ceremony by Ms. H 's Class

A beautiful and memorable Remembrance Day assembly was presented to the school today. It was truly an honour to see our students take intiative and really place our class on the map! Confidence, leadership, organization and teamwork was greatly displayed today. A selection of videos (composed, edited, and performed by these students), dances, prayers, and speeches were shown. I am truly proud and are consistently hearing how extraordinary this assembly was. Great work!!!!!!

Hello Class!

I have decided to post problems of the week  for students to post answers and exchange in critical thinking. Each post will be up for one week, so you will have ample time to post answers and comments. This is a great way of showing ongoing learning in a fun and interactive way. Answers will be posted up a week from now. Good Luck!

Grade 8 Prezi Presentations for History

Hello Grade 8's

Here is a great link to help you with your Prezi Presentations.

You are to use the free account. There is no need to purchase an account. To emphasis once again, this is a basic presentation. That means you are only creating a presentation based on the selected historical individual or war from chapter 2. After the presentations we will be creating a success criteria of what is needed when making further Prezi Presentations. The objective of this assignment is to explore the program and present your notes that you have made in class.

2. Homework Completion

For homework to be an effective extension of the school program, the
teachers, parents, and students share the responsibility for developing and maintaining good homework practices.

The TCDSB Homework Policy suggests daily maximums, not including the suggested 30 minutes of reading:

Grade 7—70 minutes
 Grade 8—80 minutes

*Whenever larger projects are assigned it is important that students use time management skills to spread the work over many days.

For free online help with math homework please register at:

Parents, please:
· provide encouragement and appropriate support, without doing the homework for the student
· expect the student to complete homework regularly
· check agendas regularly as notes may be written in agendas requiring your attention

3. Online At-Home Extensions

4. Agendas

In order to help students develop skills in organization, independence, responsibility, and ownership of their work, there is an expectation that agendas are used daily. Students are also expected to bring their agendas to school each day. Please use the agenda as a form of communication.
